AI-powered edtech startup Kinnu receives investment. From online university courses to corporate training, most learning experiences today are designed around the needs of the educational content creator, not the learner. Christopher Kahler, Abraham Muller and Hanna Celina, founders of Kinnu, predicted that AI could solve this problem by both optimizing content for the learner and empowering the learning engine through adaptive experience design.
AI in education has recently hit the headlines with ChatGPT and its impact on lessons. Some people feel nervous about all this. We are aware of that. But Kinnu's co-founders are confident that AI can be used as a force for good. And now there's news of an investment in Kinnu. The London-based startup has raised $6.5 million from LocalGlobe (which recently backed Unaric and Mistral AI) and Cavalry Ventures. The funding round also attracted an all-star angel cast, including Spark Capital and Jigsaw, as well as Google Ventures' Tom Hulme, Guy Podjarny and Rene Rechtman! This brings the total funds raised by the company to $9 million.
