Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins' first NFT collection titled "The Eternal" went on sale last month. The collection featured digital formats of iconic characters portrayed by the famous actor in films throughout his career. "Hannibal Lecter" from Silence of the Lambs and "Odin" from Thor are just a few of the NFTs in the collection of 1000 NFTs. Hopkins' collection, realized in partnership with NFT and Web3-focused design agency Orange Comet Inc. has three different categories. The NFT collection, which consists of The Eternal, The Jester and The Lover, went on sale at OpenSea on September 16th. The NFT collection sold out within minutes, exceeding expectations. So much so that Orange Comet Inc. claimed that the collection could be the fastest sale in OpenSea history. Hopkins expressed his surprise with a post on his Twitter account. First of all, Hopkins thanked everyone and said that he still could not believe that his collection was sold out.
On the other hand, NFT owners had the chance to have brunch alone with Anthony Hopkins, as well as access to audio recordings of Hopkins discussing the meaning behind the characters he portrays. Likewise, NFT holders also had access to products signed by Hopkins. Signed dream scenery art books featuring Hopkins' paintings and drawings, NFTs containing the famous actor's private conversations with the Zoom app were sent to users' wallets via Airdrop.
First Step into the World of Technology
The 84-year-old actor described the NFT collection as his first foray into the world of technology. Making a statement on the subject, Hopkins said: "I may be the oldest person in the NFT community and on social media, which proves that anything can be done at any age." Hopkins also described NFTs as "blank canvases where you can create art in a whole new format." It can be said that the famous actor's NFT collection, which sold above expectations, proves all these statements. So much so that the entire collection was sold out in less than 10 minutes, proving this.
