In the first days of February, Google officially introduced Bard, an artificial intelligence application that rivals ChatGPT. Bard, which was expected to be Google's most ambitious and biggest trump card in the field of artificial intelligence, was expected to be available to users in March. The giant technology company made the expected announcement today. Bard started the testing process as of today. According to the information shared by Google, Bard is currently only available to a certain number of users living in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Google's New AI Speech App Bard
As of March 21, 2023, Bard, which is available to users living in certain regions and over the age of 18, is an artificial intelligence application. The application, which rivals ChatGPT, the star of recent times, offers users up-to-date information on the internet. In addition, users can search directly on the subject they want by pressing the "Google it" button.
According to Google, the chatbot Bard is now available for a limited number of users in the UK and the US. Users can join the waiting list at "bard.google.com". Google has announced that the AI tool will be available to users living in other countries. However, there is no clear date for when this will happen.
The Bard is similar in design to its competitors, but with differences
Just like ChatGPT and Bing's AI chatbots, Bard offers users an empty text box. Users can ask the AI bot the questions they want by typing them here. The company announced that Bard will not replace the Chrome search engine, but will rather be used as a complement to the search engine.
Bard is Google's experimental, conversational, AI chat service. It is intended to work in a similar way to ChatGPT. The big difference is that Google's service gets its information from the web. Although Bard is a completely new concept, the AI chat service is powered by Google's Language Model for Conversational Applications (LaMDA), which was introduced two years ago.
How Does Google's AI Conversation Bot Bard Work?
LaMDA is based on Transformer, Google's open-source neural network architecture, which was launched in 2017. Interestingly, according to Google, GPT-3, the language model that ChatGPT works on, was also designed on top of Transformer. The first version of Bard will use a lower model version of LaMDA because it requires less computing power and can scale to more users.
Bard will use all the information on the web in addition to LaMDA to provide answers. Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai explained that pulling information from the web will enable the AI app to provide high-quality responses. The use of LaMDA makes it different from most AI chatbots currently, including ChatGPT and Bing Chat, which use an LLM in Bard's GPT series.
