Subway, a sandwich chain, is designing a ready-made sandwich vending machine with artificial intelligence. This robot is planned to be able to hear voices and answer the questions asked to it. The company aims to become the fastest-service restaurant in the world. In line with this goal, Subway wants to increase its accessibility with a smart vending machine that utilizes natural language processing and artificial intelligence. The company placed its first interactive smart vending machine in the library of the University of California San Diego in September 2022. It then received a lot of positive feedback about it. After these positive feedbacks, Subway also announced that it will place the design in important locations such as airports and hospitals.

Subway is Growing
Fast food chains’ vending machines usually require customers to scan a QR code or use a special app to pay after selecting their food. Subway’s new smart vending machine is contactless and cashless. The company’s smart vending machines come with both weight-sensitive shelves and UV-C light, which plays a crucial role in cleaning the machine. Subway recently released an ad that paired the best athletes in US history with the most delicious sandwiches in its history.
