Security management startup Gutsy.io Inc. launched today with $51 million in funding and a product that claims to revolutionise security management through process mining. Founded by cybersecurity veterans and serial entrepreneurs Ben Bernstein, Dima Stopel and John Morello, Gutsy’s solution applies process mining, a data-driven approach to process analysis and improvement, to cybersecurity for the first time.
Gutsy’s platform applies process mining to cybersecurity, providing automated, data-driven insights into how an organisation’s teams, tools and processes work together and what results they deliver. The platform is designed to provide security leaders with the data and insight they need to answer complex questions and make good decisions.

Gutsy says it helps chief information security officers understand how various aspects of cybersecurity policy work together, identifying conflicts, eliminating delays and mitigating risk. The service allows security leaders to define key performance indicators across all security functions, automatically measure performance and instantly obtain what results and why. The platform provides audit processes that automatically collect data on the execution of each transaction, correlating activities across complex workflows to help security organisations find “unknown unknowns”.
It also helps leaders mitigate risks associated with strategic projects such as cloud migration, managed services adoption and the deployment of new security tools. Gutsy also provides benchmarking insights that focus on how changes are implemented so that ROI can be measured and investments aligned with best practices and standards. YL Ventures LLC and Mayfield Fund Inc. led the seed round, which was also attended by several cybersecurity executives and founders. The list of individual investors includes CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. CEO George Kurtz, CEO George Kurtz, Rain Capital Ltd. Managing Partner Chenxi Wang, Transmit Security Inc. CEO Mickey Boodaei, CyberArk Software Ltd. founder Udi Modaky and Wiz Inc. CEO Assaf Rappaport.
Customers often tell us that they have 80 or 100 different security tools. But they feel that less than half of them are well-executed. So they struggle to get the results they need. This is because security is more than just a tool; it is people, process and technology. Security processes are more complex and opaque than ever before. Gutsy is revolutionising governance by taking a process and results-oriented view; helping you understand how all the pieces work together, what results you deliver and why you achieve them.Bernstein, co-founder
