Layer AI is the latest startup to raise $1.8 million to bring AI to the art of gaming. Layer AI has raised a round of venture capital funding from investors such as The Games Fund to create a state-of-the-art AI-powered productivity tool. The San Francisco company, known for its innovative solutions, attracted a strong support system from industry leaders and investors in the gaming and AI sectors with case studies here. The team is led by a team of industry professionals with extensive experience in AI, gaming and computer vision.
Our creative process at a high level starts with sketching, continues with draft colouring, and continues with final colouring. Normally we produce a level for our game in 15 days. Thanks to the help of Layer AI, we have reduced this time to 5 days. Our goal is to increase this to 3 days with the new features that the Layer team plans to introduce.Bulut Korzay, Chief Product Officer at Fortune Mine Games
We believe that with applications that outperform established firms and other startup competitors based on a great product experience, the AI revolution will be no different. AI has unlocked many new applications that will be built on top of this new technology stack. So we plan to win by building the best product experience for artists in the enterprise by leveraging the power of all the great underlying models and tools released by OpenAI, Meta. We are creative, enterprise-ready and will remain model agnostic.Gürel, CEO of Layer AI
Layer AI, supported by CRO Burcu Ozcengiz and CTO Kuo-chin, has a team with strategic expertise and experience in various fields, all committed to improving game art production through AI. The company currently has four employees and is hiring. Investors in the round included prominent serial entrepreneurs and industry legends such as Jim Payne, Akin Babayigit, Michele Attisani, Dilpesh Parmar and gaming VCs such as The Games Fund, The Games Syndicate, GFR Fund, Laton Ventures and other AI/Tech VCs. In addition, the team also received a strategic investment from Devoted Studios, a top US-based art production and talent house.
As we have deep roots in game development, we see significant changes coming to production with the introduction of gen-AI tools. We’re not big fans of the idea of flooding the market with soulless content, and Layer.AI sets itself apart by freeing creators from mundane tasks, aiming to enhance human artistry, not replace it. This is what we all believe in. We also like their focus on enterprise customers and their real needs for seamless integration into existing production lines.Maria Kochmola, General Partner of The Games Fund
