Spotify has introduced a new in-app experience called “Playlist in a Bottle,” designed to let you find your current musical tastes and view them again a year later. The popular music app announced on Wednesday, December 4 that the new user experience will help users save memories until January 2024.
New Feature: Time Capsule
Popular music app Spotify created a trend with its Wrapped service. Many users used Wrapped to share their listening history on social media and turned it into a trend. Now, it wants to create another trend by launching a new service: In a Bottle Playlist. This feature allows you to create a “musical time capsule” that you can open and listen to in 2024.
To start using your time capsule, you first need to make sure that your Spotify app is up to date with the latest version. Then you can go to spotify.com/playlistinabottle through the browser and create a time capsule with your preferred music. The same process is performed with the mobile application. After logging in to the application, the time capsule is created with the help of the link that automatically appears on the screen. There are multiple time capsule options for users. These include a bottle, a jeans pocket, a gumball machine, a lunchbox and a teddy bear.
The feature will then ask a series of questions. Questions such as what song would you like to listen to in 2023 and what song would remind you of your loved one are completed by adding the desired song. After the songs are added, the musical time capsule is digitally sealed and saved. If the user wishes, they can share the locked time capsule card with the hashtag on social media.
Spotify time capsule feature is now available in 27 countries. The feature is available for free on Android and iOS devices. Until January 31, users who do not create their capsule will not be able to access it again. Creating a new agenda with Wrapped, Spotify aims to increase the user experience again with its new service.
