We interviewed Elif Koçak, the Turkey founder of Wocopa, an investment consultancy and networking platform operating in more than 100 countries around the world, which has made its name known all over Turkey with the slogan of global solutions to local companies. Who is Elif Koçak? Can you talk about your vision for the future?
I completed my undergraduate education with a full scholarship program between 2016-2020, graduating from the International Trade Department of KTO Karatay University. As soon as I graduated, I started working in the Foreign Trade department of a private automotive company. In my spare time, taking part in projects in which 3 or 5 year business plans of start-up companies abroad are prepared has been a major factor in both my earning additional income and my status as a young and modern entrepreneur.
As an entrepreneur, we adopt principles such as structuring the Turkish leg of Wocopa with my teammates, making it innovative and institutionally sustainable, producing global solutions against the deficiencies in the consultancy sector, and providing benefits while conveying reliable and accurate information to customers. For this, my valuable team and I are advancing towards our goals with confident and innovative steps, using all our creativity and determination to work.
Your success as Wocopa Turkey Representative can inspire many people. Can you tell us about your adventure of being Wocopa’s Turkey Representative?
Since my university years, I have been following business models and opportunities, especially in the international arena. Of course, I was trying not only to follow, but also to meet people who have accomplished successful works in this field whenever I had the chance. In this way, I had the opportunity to meet many businesspeople, especially through LinkedIn, and even meet face-to-face. Each meeting not only helped me get to know a different business model, but also expanded my vision of doing business, especially in the international arena. Again, during these meetings, I met Mehmet Fatih Kılıç, one of the shareholders of United Capitals group. This meeting was a milestone for me. As I was in constant communication with them in the ongoing process, I was able to both gain important experience and knowledge from him and find an environment where I could discuss and improve my own ideas. In the ongoing process, the business model of Wocopa, which is under the United Capitals group, caught my attention. I thought that this model would be a great solution especially for companies that want to do business in international arena in our country, and I prepared a business plan for Wocopa Turkey and presented it to the United Capitals group. After long and tiring negotiations, we adapted the business model developed by Wocopa to the realities of Turkey and started the Wocopa Turkey adventure.
Could you tell us about your works in Wocopa Turkey?
Actually, I would like to start the answer to this question by repeating Wocopa’s slogan; “Global Solutions to Local Companies”. What kind of an impact does Wocopa Turkey have for people who want to take part in the sector?
As you know, our country and the world are going through difficult economic times. Can you tell us about your duties in Wocopa?
I am one of the founding partners of Wocopa Turkey. Of course, I am not only a partner, but also a Country Coordinator. In this context, I can say that I am responsible for all the activities of Wocopa in Turkey.
Could you briefly explain your fields of activity and, if any, its sub-organizations so that we can better understand the scope of Wocopa’s work?
We can collect Wocopa’s activities under four main headings. These are Consulting, International Trade, Network and Wocopa Academy.
Within the scope of our consultancy activities, we provide consultancy services in more than 30 areas such as establishing a company abroad, obtaining a residence permit, acquiring facilities and real estate, company management support, market research support, logistics storage support, finding funds-grants-incentives, investment consultancy support.
Within the scope of Wocopa Trade, we provide goods and customer finding and brokerage services, especially in the field of import and export.
Within the scope of our network services, we carry out activities that will expand the network of businesspeople such as fairs, conferences and business meetings.
We want to train consultants in the international arena with 20 modules and more than 30 hours of “International Investment and Trade Consultancy” training that we developed with Wocopa Academy. We are planning to provide Wocopa Individual representation to those who successfully complete this training, both the opportunity to establish their own businesses and the spread of Wocopa solutions all over Turkey.
There are many companies within the group, but I would like to mention a few;

Can you explain the link to Wocopa and the upcoming Wocopa Academy as an education initiative?
As I mentioned briefly in the previous question, we offer the Wocopa Academy “International Trade and Investment Consultancy” training to candidates who want to become International Trade and Investment Consultants by rapidly adapting to new opportunities and developments in the current economic order, analyzing the sectoral requirements with the leading experienced expert trainers. The training consists of 20 modules and approximately 30 hours of lessons, and at the end of each module, internationally renowned people are invited to live classes and their experiences are shared with the trainees. This means that trainees will have the opportunity to benefit from a unique education that cannot be found anywhere else in the field of international trade and investment.
We will provide individuals who have successfully completed this training, the opportunity to become Wocopa Turkey Individual Representatives.
Being a representative by taking Wocopa Academy training will not be limited to the opportunities within Wocopa.
