Espoo-based Saidot is a Finnish AI governance startup with a platform that helps businesses and governments safely harness the benefits of AI. It has secured a €1.75 million round of seed funding led by Crowberry Capital, a startup capital firm based in Iceland and Denmark. Crowberry Capital and Ventic together invested EUR 1.5 million in the seed round. Business Finland added a further EUR 250,000 after selecting Saidot for its "Young Innovative Companies" funding programme. Saidot plans to increase sales of its Artificial Intelligence Governance Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform in Europe, offering new tools to help enterprise and government customers evaluate and implement security systems for productive AI systems.

Founded in 2018, Saidot has already acquired clients from both public administration (e.g. Scottish Government) and the private sector (e.g. Deloitte). Haataja is a pioneer in the field of responsible AI. He has chaired IEEE's responsible AI startups and currently sits on the Security Advisory Board of Snap Inc.
