Pano AI is a company that provides an artificial intelligence solution for the detection of forest fires. It announced that it has raised $17 million in new funding to expand its network and capabilities to help professionals cope with these natural disasters by helping them catch them early. Pano is building the solution to enable fire departments and professionals to take immediate action when a wildfire breaks out. Namely, it creates a fully managed solution that utilizes a network of cameras, artificial intelligence, cloud technology, satellite feeds and 5G network. It does this by having cameras scan the landscape and horizon for telltale signs of a fire, such as smoke, allowing AI to discern its trajectory and spread.

It connects the cameras to an artificial intelligence system that can identify the starting point in the early stages. This way, first responders can quickly deploy with the appropriate equipment and personnel to deal with the situation. It also gives them access to cameras that can also see the situation at hand. It also gives them more information about what is happening to give them critical, actionable information before a fire threatens lives and property.
Valor Equity Partners led the company's Series A extension round, which follows a $20 million Series A financing round from September 2022.
