Google Meet's New 360-Degree Virtual Background

Google Meet has introduced new dynamic backgrounds that change as you move your phone or tablet, making it look like you're calling from a different location. These 360-degree virtual backgrounds for Google video calls are now available on both Android and iOS. The new feature relies on the device's gyroscope to make it work.

The 360-degree background will change as we move our phone left or right. The background will also be adjusted to show different scenarios, including a beach and a temple.

According to reports, Google has another attempt at a video calling app. The function is said to look very nice, although artificial enough to know that the person is not there. There are some doubts about how this person might turn out if he or she doesn't stop moving data from one place to another, which could lead to certain distractions.

It's another effort by Google to revitalize the use of Google Meet, the video calling app that's not yet very popular but which they've taken great care with and started implementing emoji reactions to last month. Mountain View users are also planning to gradually migrate users to the new Google Meet app, which combines Duo features.
