French startup Teale has secured a funding round of $11 million (€10 million). The company provides a mental health platform for employees. It assists HR managers in preventing burnout or silent turnover. The series A round was led by Alter Equity and Bpifrance's Digital Venture fund. Other participants in the investment round of the France-based company are Isai and Evolem. Teale is a two-way platform. This can be seen as an advantage for employees, as many people believe that their employer should provide some form of support when it comes to mental health. But it is also designed for HR managers to be able to see that there is a problem in the organisation.

Health Technology Startup Teale
When your company sends you an email and tells you that you can use Teale for free, it means that any employee can download, install and start using the app to better understand their own mental health. And it starts with a questionnaire that will be used to rate your mental health based on multiple criteria. After that, Teale will suggest content that may be relevant to your current situation. Teale has created a large content library of 1000 pieces of audio and video content on topics such as stress, sleep, burnout, death, infertility, etc. You can also book an appointment with a psychiatrist or psychology doctor. This is an important feature. Because it can help you start therapy when you don't really know where to start. At any time, the HR team can see if Teale is being actively used in the company (how many people have created accounts, how many people have requested individual sessions, etc.).
If there are more than 20 people in any business unit, department or country, Teale can indicate the average mental health score of this particular group. Some questions revolve around workload, management, ability to disconnect, etc. Teale can also be used to determine if the team is understaffed or if there is a problem with the manager. So far, around 100 companies have subscribed to Teale to give their own employees access to the service. Some customers include some large companies such as Sanofi, SNCF, Cartier and EY. On average, 45 per cent of the workforce uses Teale. The company will increase its team from 25 to 80 employees over the next 18 months with today's funding round. Teale also plans to expand into new countries.
