Mert Baki, the new CEO of Yemeksepeti, completed his high school education at Galatasaray High School in Istanbul, Turkey. Then, he preferred Istanbul Technical University for his university education. After completing his undergraduate education in electrical engineering there, Baki continued his MBA graduate program at Sabancı University.
Baki attended training programs in the field of Business Strategy at the University of Florida and Stanford University after completing his graduate education. He had the opportunity to start his business life at ARAMA Consulting, with the qualified education he had received since his high school years. After gaining experience there, he took part in various roles in business development at Migros. Mert Baki joined the Yemeksepeti family for the first time in 2011. He was responsible for all the new projects of the company. He controlled the process from the development of the projects to their implementation. Later on, Baki became interested in the overseas operations of Yemeksepeti in 10 different countries in the following years.
His last job in his career was being the Assistant General Manager Responsible for Business Development. He also led major projects such as Yemek.com, Yemeksepeti Banabi, Yemeksepeti Mahalle. With his works, he made Yemeksepeti an important formation preferred by larger masses.
Former CEO of Yemeksepeti
Nevzat Aydın resigned from his position as CEO after 21 years of Yemeksepeti transfer. He said that he had decided to leave his place to someone younger and with a different perspective. Emphasizing that Yemeksepeti, which has 9000 employees, is the leader in its sector despite all the slurs, Aydın said that from now on, he wants to devote his time to his family, himself, and philanthropy.
In his statement, the successful businessman, who stated that he strived for fair, innovative, and transparent management throughout his business life, added that he apologized if he had flaws. Stating that there are no advantages such as license, allocation, government support, incentives, acquaintances, and credits behind the success of Yemeksepeti, Aydın stated that "innovation" is their biggest trump card.
In his speech, Nevzat Aydın talked about the innovations of Yemepsepeti such as DVD project, gamification, restaurant reviews, wars for headman, giving “Speech” and other classics as gifts as well as Banabi and Mahalle, and then introduced the company's new CEO, Mert Baki.
