Mevlüt Dinç was born in 1957 in Ordu, Turkey. He spent his youth in the city where he was born. During these years, he learned to program with his own efforts. After graduating from Ordu Commercial Vocational High School, he left Ordu and moved to Ankara. He received his university education at Ankara University, Department of Economics. He graduated from the university he started in 1974 in 1979.
Dinç, who traveled to England after his graduation, bought a computer game as a result of his friend's insistence. This step he took created a significant change in his life. So much so that the game world managed to attract the attention of Mevlüt Dinç in a short time. Then he decided to direct his career to this field.
Dinç, who entered the game industry in 1985 as a playwright, became one of the best playwrights in England. By the year 1988, he started to show his experiences in his own company called Vivid Image. Vivid Image has become one of Europe's well-known development companies with a rapid rise.
Mevlüt Dinç became the developer of the world-renowned Enduro Racer, Last Ninja 2, Time Machine, Hammerfist, Street Racer, First Samurai, and similar games for important platforms such as Amstrad, Amiga, Spectrum, Nintendo SNES within his company.
Mevlüt Dinç Joined the Turkish Game Industry with Sobee
As a result of his success reaching Europe, Mevlüt Dinç decided to return to Turkey in 2000. His aim was to accelerate the development of the gaming industry in Turkey and to be involved in this process. Dinç founded his company called Sobee as soon as he returned to his country.
In 2006, he became the developer of Turkey's biggest game called "Istanbul Kıyamet Vakti". Two years later, Citroen developed the C4Robot game with over one million players. Mevlüt Dinç presented I CAN FOOTBALL, the first online football game in the history of the world, which can be played 11 on 11, to the players.
Thanks to Dinç's efforts, Sobee revived the gaming industry in Turkey just as he had imagined. In 2009, Türk Telekom bought all the shares of this successful company. In 2001, Sobee, now part of Türk Telekom, introduced the first child hero of Turkey, SUPERCAN, to the public with his play.
Career Life Crowned with Awards
Mevlüt Dinç, together with the famous game producer named Jon Dean, founded the first formation of the game world called the Society of Software Author - Game Developers Association.
Dinç also sat on the chair of the Turkish Digital Games Federation, which was established in 2014.
Dinç's adventure, which started with only one game trial in England and then moved to Turkey, includes many awards.
The first of these was the Best Game and Best Programmer awards in 1986 for his game Enduro Racer. Then, in 1987, he won the Best Game and Best Programmer awards once again with his much-loved game Last Ninja 2.
Adding a new achievement to his achievements in 1990, he won the Most Original Game Award with the Time Machine Award. A year after that, First Samurai earned him the Game of the Year Award and the Best Programmer Award.
In 2000, he developed a game engine called Actor. This game engine was used at Intel's Pentium 4 world launch event.
In 2002, he and his team developed the game Dual Blades for the Game Boy Advance. This game broke a new ground when it was offered for sale in the world and became the first professional Turkish game offered for sale worldwide.
His play I CAN FOOTBALL won the Best Content Service Award at the 2010 World Communication Awards held in London.
Mevlüt Dinç: "Life Is A Game"
Mevlüt Dinç published his book, "Hayat Bir Oyun" in January 2020, in which he explains how the game industry has developed, first in Europe and then in Turkey. In the book, he shared his experiences during the development of the game industry with his readers. All sales proceeds of the book are donated to Darüşşafaka Society.
