Netflix has announced that Premium members can now download content to more devices and use spatial audio for more than 700 titles. Both upgraded features are available for free. Premium subscribers can download Netflix content for offline viewing on six devices at once. Previously, the plan only allowed downloading on four supported devices at a time. We can now state that this upgraded feature is likely to be very convenient for large families looking to travel this year.

Regardless of which plan a user has, they can have up to 100 active downloads per device. This means that Premium subscribers can have a total of 600 active downloads across all their devices. Note that not all titles can be downloaded. Also, some downloaded titles disappear after a certain period of time. As announced in July, Netflix has made spatial audio available on all devices for members of all plans, including Basic and Standard. However, users on Netflix's cheaper plans only have access to a limited number of titles.
Netflix Premium members can now get theater-quality audio on more than 700 of Netflix's most-watched movies, including "Stranger Things," "Wednesday" and "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." The company added that Netflix will continue to add spatial audio to new titles as they come to market. This includes "You," "Your Place or Mine," "Luther: Fallen Sun" and "Tour de France".
It is important to note that no special equipment is required to use spatial audio. Users can type "Spatial Audio" into Netflix's search bar to see which movies and TV shows support the feature. The company has also made searching easier for users by adding a new spatial audio badge to title cards on movies and TV shows. Other streaming services that support spatial audio include HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu and more.

As Netflix experiments with new revenue streams, such as its upcoming password-sharing feature, the company likely launched these two upgrades to entice more users to switch to its most expensive subscription option. Netflix earned $7.85 billion in Q4 2022 as it continues to experience slow revenue growth. The company generated $7.93 billion in revenue in the previous quarter.
The Premium plan costs $19.99 per month. That's $4.50 more than the Standard plan and $10 more than the Basic plan. The more expensive plan offers 4K HDR video resolution, Dolby Atmos and the ability to watch on four supported devices simultaneously.
Netflix's "Basic with Ads" plan costs just $6.99 per month. But adoption has reportedly been slow since its launch in November. According to Kantar, the ad-supported tier accounts for 12 percent of the subscriber base.
