With the very busy and exciting holiday shopping season coming to an end, one thing is certain. People love to shop online. And they can't wait for their goods to be delivered. The leading search giant has added a new option to users' Gmail that, once enabled, allows for easy tracking of package deliveries.

Details about the Feature that Makes it Easy to Track Package Delivery
According to the information gathered, this provides more information on where your current package stands and how much waiting time can be expected at a glance before final delivery. Some might think that the timing of such a feature is a bit off. After all, it would have been great to take advantage of something like this at a time of high purchasing during the holidays. But still, we can bet that users aren't complaining.
This feature is currently live in the Gmail App for Android devices. However, before you can actually access it, you need to make sure you enable it manually. Moreover, the same seems to be true for iOS, where users can enable packet tracking by going to Data Privacy and enabling the Smart feature. If you're not too familiar with this kind of package tracking, the updates could improve the Gmail interface and give users more details on the issue with incoming packages.
When users click on the list view button, they can find a green colored label attached to the email headers. And this indicates the delivery status of the package in question. And if you want to look for more details, you can always go to the mail itself, and you'll find the cards that appear at the top. This shows all the important details about a particular delivery.
For now, the offer will work well with the likes of leading shipping companies. But Google has not yet specified which carriers will receive support through the rollout. Go to the Settings menu of the Gmail app on your Android device. And click on package tracking. Once enabled, you will be presented with indicators showing you which packages are supported and which are not. You can even see the menu options shown in the images above. Gmails hopes to show certain indicators in the form of labels to provide more information.
You Need to Update the App to the Latest Version to Benefit
You will see status updates on your package delivery with tags such as delivered today, a tag has been created, or even coming tomorrow. The company also hopes to show updates when a package is delayed. The best part is that when there appears to be a major update on the status of a package, the app will push the email to the top of the inbox. This way, users can witness the status change instantly.
If you want to try this new feature, just click on the Settings menu that appears in Gmail for the account in question and activate it. Don't worry if you have problems. You'll probably need to update your app to the latest version to take advantage of it. While most of us haven't seen a feature like this come to Gmail recently, we're sure users will love the simplicity it creates, as it's an added layer of convenience, since most people use Gmail for work.
