OQmented
OQmented was founded in 2018 by Thomas von Wantoch and Dr. Ulrich Hofmann. It develops MEMS-based augmented/mixed reality imaging and 3D sensing solutions. The solution is claimed to have lower power consumption, smaller size, higher brightness and contrast, and a display performance suitable for 'outdoor' wear glass. They also state that they will offer their "lightweight engine" as a plug and play solution.
OQmented is excited about the acquisition of Sharp as a strategic investor with years of experience, as Sharp is one of the largest suppliers for displays and electronic devices. Their unique collaboration brings together their immense know-how, helping them to offer customers an integrated solution. Integrated MEMS, electronics and laser technologies combined with lightweight motors. This strengthens their key position in the augmented and mixed reality market.
