Swave Photonics, a pioneer in true holography applications for augmented reality, today announced the successful completion of its seed round investment. Swave received an additional €3 million in this round of investment, bringing its total funding to €10 million. Reinvestment from existing investors, imec.xpand, a venture capital fund focused on nanotechnology innovations, Flanders Future Techfund (FFTF), a Belgian/Flemish public investment fund, and QBIC, a Belgian inter-university VC fund, participated in the investment round.

Swave's HXR Technology Reached 10 Million Investment!
Luminate NY's investment stemmed from Swave's recent selection as a finalist in Luminate NY's accelerator programme and competition. This award was complemented by Swave being selected first in the 2023 SPIE Photonics West Startup Challenge and being recognised as a finalist in the 2023 AWE USA Startup to Watch competition. Swave's Holographic Extended Reality (HXR) technology represents the pinnacle of an imaging technology that blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion by providing high-resolution 3D images.
Swave's HXR technology delivers holographic images, eliminating today's challenges of depth of focus and eye tracking. Thanks to its unique ability to be uniquely manufactured using standard CMOS technology, HXR enables scalable and cost-effective production. Swave's HXR technology is capable of powering holographic glasses and headsets, delivering immersive spatial augmented reality experiences with exceptional resolution, excellent depth of focus and 180 to 360 degree viewing angles, free from the inconveniences of traditional headsets. HXR passes the visual Turing test, virtually eliminating the distinction between virtual reality and real-world images thanks to applications powered by gigapixel technology.
