Tesla has finally started opening some Supercharger stations to non-Tesla electric car owners in the US and explained how it works. Tesla will make 7,500 of its Supercharger stations available for electric vehicles from other brands. These stations will also allow other automakers to charge their models, as they are equipped with a special Magic Dock adapter. With the emergence of the photos, it seems that the process has begun.
Tesla's Supercharger charging stations are preferred by all electric vehicle owners thanks to their fast charging capabilities. Currently, these stations usually offer charging speeds of up to 150 kW, with the possibility of high-power charging up to 300 kW. Recently, Tesla has increased the power of its Supercharger charging stations up to 250 kW. All US citizens will now be able to benefit from Tesla Supercharger stations.

Owners of non-Tesla electric vehicles can carry out the charging process through the Tesla app. To do so, they first need to download the app, create an account, add a credit card for payment, and then select some of the few select Supercharger stations currently equipped with the Magic Dock. New York in particular has such an option. In the app, electric car owners can see the stations and choose the stops where they will park. Then, they just need to hold the lever with which the CCS adapter will exit the Magic Dock.
Tesla warns that charging can take up to two minutes if the charging process takes longer than a Tesla vehicle. For this reason, owners of non-Tesla electric vehicles need to communicate with the station through the app rather than directly. To help with this, Tesla has produced a quick video on using the Supercharger network. This video provides non-Tesla electric vehicle owners with information on how to use the charging station.
Currently, only a few stations in New York state are available to non-Tesla EV owners. As Tesla plans to deploy the Magic Dock at more stations and build new stations, the number of available stations is expected to grow rapidly. Tesla, which will start selling cars in Turkey this year, will take a similar step by providing service to all electric vehicles. If this pilot program is successful, Tesla can offer the same service at all its stations around the world.
