The World's Highest Quality Gaming Laptop: "Dell Alienware x16"

Dell launched Alienware x4090 at CES 4090 with Intel Raptor Lake-H and Nvidia RTX 40 Laptop GPU options up to RTX x16 at CES 2023. Alienware x16 incorporates the new Legend 3.0 design language. Dell is also introducing a new Alienware x18 laptop alongside the new Alienware m14 and Alienware x16 R2.

Alienware x16 offers three 16-inch display options: QHD+ (2560 x 1600) 165 Hz, QHD+ 240 Hz and FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 480 Hz. All three panels support Dolby Vision HDR. It has a 3 ms response time, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and G-Sync. The display also features an FHD IR webcam for Windows Hello-based logins.

Dell is offering several Intel Raptor Lake-H processor options with the Alienware x16, including the Core i7-13620H, Core i7-13700H and Core i9-13900HK. These are coupled with the latest Nvidia Ada RTX 40 Laptop GPUs such as the 140 W RTX 4050 6 GB, 140 W RTX 4060 8 GB, 140 W RTX 4070 8 GB, 175 W RTX 4080 12 GB and 175 W RTX 40.

All Alienware x16 configurations use Gallium-Silicone-based Element 31 thermal interface material for both the CPU and GPU. Dell also said the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090-based configurations use vapor chamber cooling. A 12-phase VRM provides consistent power to keep the GPU running at peak levels for extended periods of gaming.

Buyers can configure the Alienware x16 with a choice of up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6000 (for the Core i9-13900HK variant) and up to 4TB of PCIe storage RAM. There is also the option to configure the device with an Alien X Series keyboard or CherryMX ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard, both with per-key AlienFX RGB lighting. Certain configurations also include AlienFX effects for the touchpad, which Dell says is 15 percent larger than on the Alienware x17 R2.

Networking requirements are covered by the Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 or AX1690 WLAN card with Bluetooth 5.3. All Alienware x16 models are Dolby Atmos certified. The Alienware x16 will be available in Q1 2023 starting at US$3,099. An entry-level model starting at US$2,149.99 will be introduced at a later date. Dell also said that a version of the Alienware x16 with AMD options will be announced in Q2 2023.
