Ufuk Tarhan, Futurist Businessperson

Ufuk Tarhan was born on 11 June 1959 in Antalya. She graduated from the Department of Economics at the Middle East Technical University. She started her career while she was still a student. She worked as an assistant during her school years. She also designed a reader for visually impaired students. This device was Tarhan's first tangible achievement in technology. Again, when she was a university student, she opened a small exhibition where the figures representing the heroes of the children were on the glass. She started the university in 1976 and graduated in 1981.

Ufuk Tarhan is known, above all, for being a futurist. Futurist is explained as futurist in terms of the meaning of the word. This mentality first came to the fore in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century. It is also known as the current of modern art and social movements. Those who follow this trend create works in all branches of art such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, interior architecture, literature, music, theater and other performing arts. So much so that futurism has made a place for itself even in the field of gastronomy.

Futurists are imaginative people who can predict the future well according to their own time. This title is also given to philosophers who think ahead of their age.

Ufuk Tarhan is among the first names that come to mind in our country when futurist is mentioned. Tarhan gives seminars that tell people about her ideas about the future.

Ufuk Tarhan and M-Gen!

Ufuk Tarhan took part in business life as a senior manager between 1982-2005. The companies she worked for were mostly technology related.

In 2006, Tarhan decided to take a different path in her career and established M-GEN Future Planning Center. In 2011, she launched M-GEN Software and Digital Communication Services Ltd. Collaborations were established with reputable Global companies from 2011. With the participation of Ayşe Yıldıztekin and Can Kılıçturgay as partners in the company, M-Gen became stronger than before and continued to grow.

Today, M-Gen operates as a Digital Agency and Future Planning Center. This formation describes itself as a Futurist, Business Designer, and Business Avatar. With the Digital Agency identity that developed after 2011, M-Gen increased the number of services it provides from various branches such as CampaignWall, SocialWall and M-GEN CMS software products.

Under leadership of Ufuk Tarhan, M-Gen has developed many portal and platform-based applications to be used in Digital Transformation. Thus, it came to the foreground with different projects not only in the fields of Digital PR and Social Media, but also in the field of software.

Volunteered in Many Projects

Although Ufuk Tarhan is known for being a futurist and her company, M-Gen, which she founded, she is also an important philanthropist who takes part in many successful projects voluntarily.

In 1999, she became a member of Rotary International, which came together for business people to influence the world more peacefully and in good faith. Later, between 2003-2004, Tarhan became the Taksim Manager of Rotary International. She continued to take part in this club voluntarily until 2009.

She has been a member and speaker of the World Futurists Association, which was founded in 1976. She has also become a member of the Professional Futurists Association, which was founded in 2002. She founded the Turkish Futurists Association in 2005. After being the director of this association for a while, she now serves as a member of the High Advisory Board.

Ufuk Tarhan has been a member of the Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGIDER) since March 2012 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.

Today, Tarhan is also a member of the Turkish Women's International Network (TurkishWIN), which aims to support Turkish women in business life.

Ufuk Tarhan is still known today as Turkey's first and only female futurist speech. Working in the field of futuristic and sustainable business models with her company M-Gen, Tarhan designs digital business strategies and acts as a Business Avatar.

Tarhan is not only known as an entrepreneur and a business person who volunteers in associations. She also addresses an important readership with her author identity. She shares her articles on the website Ufuktarhan com and writes columns in business-related magazines and online.

Tarhan appears at the top of Google searches in the World's Most Influential Futurists list. Tarhan is also on Forbes' 50 Most Influential Female Futurists list.

Ufuk Tarhan teaches at the Middle East Technical University, where she received her university degree, and at many other universities under the name of Future.

Tarhan successfully completed her master's degree at Bahçeşehir University in 2006 with the thesis on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She also published a book with the title of the thesis titled T-Human. In 2017, T-Human won the Most Successful Innovative Business Book Award.
