Ümit Boyner, Successful Woman of the Business World

Ümit Nazlı Boyner was born on September 28, 1963 in Istanbul. Her father's name was Acar Alpay, and her mother's name was Ayla Yörükoğlu. Boyner's family settled in Ayvalık, Balikesir, during the population exchange in 1923. Her father was in the olive cultivation and olive oil industry for many years.

After completing her secondary education at the British Girls' Secondary School, Ümit Boyner went to the USA to get her high school education. Having completed her high school education, Boyner decided to take her university education in this country as well. She graduated from the University of Rochester in New York in 1985. The successful businesswoman, who started working at Chemical Mitsui Bank in the same year, did banking there for two years. Boyner also worked as a finance manager in the finance departments of various companies for six years.

Ümit Boyner Continued Her Career in Turkey

Ümit Boyner, who ended her education life in the USA and took her first steps in her career, returned to Turkey in 1991. Boyner, who started to work as the Credit Marketing Manager at Türk Petrol Holding A.Ş., also served as the finance manager at this company. She continued her business life, which she left behind in the USA, without slowing down within the borders of Turkey. Afterwards, Turcas Petrolcülük A.Ş. She added a new achievement to her success as the Finance and Treasury Manager of the company.

Ümit Boyner's marriage to Doğan Bolak, whom she met in the first years of her career, ended in 1993. From this marriage, Boyner had a son named Sinan Bolak. After this separation, Ümit Boyner met and married a businessman, Cem Boyner, during the Kick Box lessons she took in 1994. Two years after the marriage of the Boyner couple, they had a child named Murat.

For Boyner Group's conglomerate strategy in 1996, Ümit Boyner became the company's Vice President of Finance. Then she continued to take part in business life as a Member of the Board of Directors of Boyner Holding A.Ş.

In 2005, Boyner became a responsible board member in the Foreign Promotion Commission department of the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD). Ümit Boyner, who was appointed as the vice president of the association in 2007, was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD on January 21, 2010. She continued in this position for three years.
