Who is Dr. Özgür Akın?

Özgür Akın was born in 1974 in Konya, Turkey. During his university education, he started his associate degree education in Computer Programming at Ege University in 1992. After graduating from there in 1994, he received his undergraduate education at Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Management and Organization.

Founder of Akınsoft at 21!

While he was studying at Anadolu University, he decided to found AKINSOFT on April 12, 1995. After graduating from the Department of Management and Organization, Akın became a student of Computer Engineering at Selçuk University. Afterwards, he attained his master's degree in Industrial Engineering at the same university. Finally, he completed his doctorate in Robotic Technologies at Selçuk University between the years 2010-2013.

AKINSOFT, which he founded in 1995, achieved an incredible success in a short period, mainly with Wolvox ERP E-Business Software and more than 120 programs developed by the company. It didn't take long for these programs to be exported to 31 different countries as the programs put into service supported 7 different languages. All these have made AKINSOFT one of the most well-known software companies in Turkey.

Özgür Akın's Breakthroughs with Robotics Department

In 2009, AKINSOFT established a robotics department. Within AKINSOFT, this department carried out R&D studies on humanoid robots. Turkey's first humanoid robot prototype was produced by this department as well. AKINSOFT has achieved a first in Turkey with the AKINCI series with two legs, the PNCR agricultural robot series, the ADA service robot series, the Mini ADA agricultural hoster series and finally the ARAT field robot.

Cadde Meram Cafe, which is located at the city he grew up, the only robotic cafe in Turkey where humanoid robots work, has been put into service for the people of Konya.

Özgür Akın and AKINSOFT laid the foundation of a factory called AKINROBOTICS in 2015 so that the robots they developed could start mass production. This factory also broke new ground as the world's first humanoid robot factory. AKINROBOTICS factory was opened in 2017.

A Very Social Scientist: Özgür Akın!

Özgür Akın gave seminars at many institutions and organizations and even at universities. The number of these seminars he gave under the name of "Touch Your Utopia" has exceeded hundreds. Akın was a lecturer at Karatay University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechatronics Engineering between 2014-2015.

Akın's hobbies include nature sports such as skiing, sailing, diving and mountaineering. In addition to these, his other hobbies are photography, writing poetry, playing musical instruments, riding horses, playing tennis and riding a motorcycle.

Akın, 48, continues to serve science and humanity.
